This is me: A Work in Progress

I painted these tulips and Delphinium after weeks of not painting at all. Emergent family illness kept me out of the studio for weeks, so it felt amazingly wonderful to pick up the brush again and create. But this painting isn’t finished, and I hadn’t realized that until I prepared to use it as an illustration for a class. The bottom edge has not been painted. And that’s okay. I’M not finished, either.

Just like this painting, God isn’t finished with me, yet. I still have work to do. And just like this painting, my life is a work in progress. Every day I learn something new. Every day I make mistakes. Every day I receive forgiveness and mercy. Sometimes I have to scrap it and start over. Sometimes, His light shines through. Those are the best days.
